Job Description
Leitz Tooling Systems LP, The world's leading tooling manufacturer and service provider to the woodworking, plastics, and advanced materials industries. Salary is based on experience and skill level. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work - This is a full-time position. Typical days are Monday through Friday.
NOTE:
This position requires lifting and moving of heavy equipment. Summary/Objective - The CNC Operator will operate 5 axis machines and may later be trained in other computer numerical control or manual machines that are associated with the making or sharpening of cutting tools. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding production runs, gets along well with others, and maintains a safe, organized, and clean work environment. This position requires experience with 5 axis CNC machines and dedication to the quality of production and performance efficiencies. Essential Functions - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Operate and program 5 axis CNC. Machine parts to specification. Use inspection equipment for measuring. Optical comparator. Uses Calipers, Micrometers, and Dial indicator. Promote teamwork and effective communications between all Leitz departments. Support Leitz' mission statement, critical success factors, quality and policy. Maintains safe operations and work area by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Performs all assigned machine shop operations. Detects and reports defective materials to management or designee. Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results. Completes and maintains paperwork for parts. Assists in other work areas to perform fabrication and lay-up. Read, understand, and follow all Leitz Tooling Systems LP health and safety protocol and procedures. Competencies Communication Proficiency. Mathematical Skills. Mechanical Capacity. Physical Demands - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing and pulling objects that are 75 pounds or heavier. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in CNC required. Ability to read and utilize measuring equipment and metric system. Ability to program conversational controller. Preferred Education and Experience Knowledge of woodworking tools.
