Job Description

Sheet Metal fabrication / manufacturing company in need of mechanically and mathematically skilled candidate to run a Trumpf 5000 and 2000 punch press. Experience required on Trumpf machines. 2nd shift only Monday through Thursday 2:45pm to 1:15am (off Fri, Sat, Sun) 7 Paid Holidays 2 Weeks of paid vacation
Turret Punch Press Operators:
Pay is very dependent on experience and knowledge.
Job Summary:
The Punch Press Turret Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining turret punch press machines to fabricate or modify metal components and products. This role requires a keen eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate
TRUMPF CNC
turret punch presses.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
  • Select and load proper tools and punches for job requirements.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and precision of parts.
  • Inspect finished pieces using calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
  • Make minor machine adjustments and perform basic troubleshooting.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Record production data, including quality checks and machine maintenance logs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve production issues.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience operating a turret punch press or similar machinery.
  • Familiarity with CNC controls and basic machine programming.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and PPE usage.
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform precise measurements.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software or CNC programming.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Lean manufacturing or 5S knowledge.
