Job Title:
CNC Operator Job Description We are seeking a motivated CNC Operator who will be trained in the complete setup and operation of CNC Mills and Lathes. This role involves working on small batch runs, with most parts requiring fewer than 50 pieces before changing to the next setup. The position demands a meticulous approach as you will inspect your own parts using micrometers, calipers, and various gauges and fixtures. Additionally, you will perform finishing tasks such as sanding and grinding as needed. Our operations primarily involve machining steel, including stainless, as well as various plastics, brass, titanium, and aluminum. Training will be provided on how to edit programs at the machine using software like GibbsCAM and Fusion, with a focus on producing precise, one-off pieces for industries such as medical, aerospace, defense, and pharmaceuticals. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC Mills and Lathes. Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Perform finishing tasks such as sanding and grinding. Handle parts that require multiple machine operations. Edit programs at the machine using GibbsCAM and Fusion. Collaborate in producing precise, one-off parts for various industries. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints. Experience with machining, calipers, and micrometers. Familiarity with machine operation or manufacturing environments. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and quality control documents. Additional Skills & Qualifications A 2-year degree in CNC Machining is a plus, but not required. Experience in operating or doing changeovers on machinery is advantageous. Eagerness to learn and retain new information. Why Work Here? Work Environment Our work environment is exceptionally clean, with parts produced for regulated industries. You will initially learn to operate 1-2 machines and expand your expertise over time. Training is conducted on the day shift for 1-4 weeks, after which you may move to nights or weekends. The day shift runs from 7am to 5:30pm, Monday through Thursday. The night shift is from 5:30pm to 4:00am, Monday through Thursday, with a differential included in the offer. The weekend shift operates from 6:00am to 6:30pm, Friday through Sunday, offering a unique compensation structure where you work 36 hours but are paid for 40, with overtime applicable beyond 36 hours. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Horace, ND. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
