CNC Operator Second Shift:
Monday Through Thursday 2 PM to 12:30 AM To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Responsibilities:
Includes the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Machine Operations
  • Ability to offset and control machine tools with CNC controller
  • Adjusts coolant lines, checks coolant tanks, and fills oil reservoir
  • Secures workpiece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers, or fixtures
  • Reports machine problems to the Machine Shop Supervisor (leaks, noises, etc.)
  • General Inspection
  • Reads blueprint or work order for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions (such as fixtures and gauges)
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and plug gauges
  • Documents completion of operations on the production traveler Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees. Mathematical Skills Basic math skills such as the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand, reach and lift. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
