Non-Exempt Summary of Job :
The Lathe Machine Operator will be responsible for maintaining and operating CNC Lathe machines to produce precision parts that meet quality standards. The Lathe Machine Operator will also be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings and specifications, and working closely with other team members to ensure production goals are met, or exceeded. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate CNC Lathe machinery from blueprints. Edit programs on the machine, when needed. Check parts for accuracy according to blueprints. Perform quality checks on parts for accuracy according to blueprints, and to ensure the product meets quality standards. Identify product defects and work with QC team. Set up tools and machinery for individual projects. Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Follow all safety procedures and company policies. Maintain a professional, clean and safe work area. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The listed requirements are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. CNC machining experience required. Knowledge of FANUC controls. Knowledge of 4th axis operation, a plus. Able to use measuring equipment such as Calipers, Micrometers, Indicators, etc. Able to read and interpret charts, drawings and blueprints. Knowledge of safety procedures relating to setting up CNC machinery and handling materials. Ability to interpret, edit, and program efficiently, when required. Must be able to set up CNC machinery with minimal supervision. Must be able to follow directions and perform work accurately and thoroughly. Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy. Strong communication skills to work as part of a team. 5 years minimum experience in a related role. High School Diploma, or GED.
