Full Job Description SUMMARY:
Coordinate with Production Supervisor &/or Expediter on parts scheduled to be produced. CNC programming, pre-programming of parts by customers and ensure all quality processes are being followed. Perform various milling and boring operations to component parts using computer generated programs that meet blueprint specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Programming of CNC equipment. Read and interpret blueprints. Use digital calipers in metric and English measurements. Conduct SPC quality checks. Observe all safety rules and regulations. Follow lock out/tag out procedures. Change out tooling as required. Follow quality procedure by performing process checks using the SPC system. Operator maintenance activities. General housekeeping of machine and immediate area. Input data on move tickets and production control forms. Must support the team in achieving all Safety, Production and Quality goals. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
3 - 6 months experience with CNC equipment. Blueprint reading experience preferred. Basic computer skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, comprehend and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and work to implement solutions. Ability to understand and carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to walk and stand over 2/3 of your shift. Ability to use and reach with your hands and arms. Ability to climb or balance over 1/3 of your shift. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl over 1/3 of your shift. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Use of personal protective equipment is always required. (Hearing protection and safety glasses) General mill environment. High noise, dust, forklift and pedestrian traffic.
