We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Essetre CNC Operator to join our timber frame fabrication shop. This position is primarily focused on operating an Essetre CNC timber-processing machine to produce custom timber frame components accurately, safely, and efficiently. The CNC Operator will work with large structural timbers, digital production files, shop drawings, and fabrication equipment. Responsibilities include preparing and loading material, setting up and monitoring the machine, inspecting completed components, and performing hand-finishing or corrective work as needed. Experience with CNC machinery, timber framing, carpentry, woodworking, manufacturing, or construction is preferred. However, training is available for a candidate with strong mechanical aptitude, basic computer skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Duties

• Operate an Essetre CNC timber-processing machine to fabricate custom timber frame components.
• Review production files, shop drawings, technical drawings, and cutting information before beginning fabrication.
• Set up the CNC machine for each production run and confirm that tooling, settings, and material placement are correct.
• Load, position, secure, and unload large timbers using appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Monitor the machine during operation and identify errors, unusual sounds, tooling issues, or other potential problems.
• Inspect completed timber components to ensure dimensions, cuts, holes, joinery, and other details meet project specifications.
• Label, organize, stack, and prepare completed timbers for assembly, shipment, or installation.
• Change or assist with changing cutting tools and perform routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance.
• Troubleshoot minor machine, tooling, or fabrication issues and report larger problems to management.
• Maintain accurate production records and communicate clearly with designers, shop personnel, and project managers.
• Assist with general timber frame fabrication, trial fitting, assembly, and shop work as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and applicable OSHA standards. Requirements
• Previous experience operating CNC machinery is preferred.
• Experience with Essetre timber-processing equipment is highly desirable but not required.
• Experience in timber framing, carpentry, woodworking, manufacturing, machining, or construction is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, schematics, technical instructions, and production files.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify dimensional or fabrication errors.
• Ability to take accurate measurements and perform basic construction-related math.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn CNC control and production software.
• Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn machine setup, tooling, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and material-handling equipment.
• Ability to work independently while also communicating and cooperating with the fabrication team.
• Strong safety awareness, reliability, and consistent attendance.
• Forklift, crane, heavy-equipment, or rigging experience is a plus.
• Experience with timber joinery, CNC programming, CAD/CAM software, or machine maintenance is a plus. Compensation and Benefits
