CNC Operator:
Load and unload machine- Load raw materials needed to machine parts. Secure parts to the table using vacuum hold down, spray adhesive wood, screws and other methods. Ability to read blueprints
- blueprints are drawings that provide all necessary information required to machine a part. material specifications, dimensions, revision history and a visual of the part that you are machining Basic computer skills
- A CNC machine has a built in keyboard and mouse used for inputting data and selecting files needed to machine parts Spot check dimension on parts as they are being machined
- you will be required to check dimensions of your first part to ensure they are accurate to the drawing before cutting any remaining quantity. Use various inspection tools to measure parts such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges and more
- most parts we machine have a .030 plus or minus tolerance. A tape measure is not going to work. Conduct Preventative Maintenance
- all machines require maintenance, apply grease to grease fittings and oil to automatic reservoirs check and clean filters as needed. Clean and wipe down machines to keep them functioning properly and aesthetically pleasing. Clearly communicate with assembly downstream
- Communicate with other departments in regards to work completed and ready for the next steps in the assembly process. Maintain all paperwork per ISO documentation
- it will be required to fill and document all materials as accurately as possible throughout the machining process. You will be successful if you have the following: Good attitude
- team player 2+ years' experience operating a CNC and 3 axis milling machine Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues 5 Axis Thermwood experience will move you to the front of the line Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
