Job Description

Machinist / Backup CNC Operator We are looking for a dependable Machinist / Backup CNC Operator to join our machine shop. This position will primarily work on manual mills and lathes and will serve as a backup CNC operator when needed. Our shop handles a wide variety of machining work rather than repetitive production, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working from prints, setting up machines, and machining different types of parts. Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate manual mills and lathes
  • Machine a variety of one-off and low-volume parts
  • Serve as a backup operator on our Haas CNC mill when needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, dimensions, and tolerances
  • Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds
  • Perform machine setups and make adjustments as needed
  • Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup issues
  • Assist with CNC setups and programming based on experience
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area Qualifications
  • Previous machining experience
  • Experience operating manual mills and lathes
  • CNC machining experience
  • Ability to perform machine setups
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand machining tolerances
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment
  • Understanding of cutting tools, speeds, and feeds
  • Dependable and able to work independently
  • EZ-Trak or other conversational control experience preferred, but not required
CNC / CAM
Experience Our CNC work is programmed using SolidWorks CAM. Experience with SolidWorks CAM is preferred, but experience with other CAM software is also valuable. Experience with Haas CNC equipment is a plus. About the Position This is a good opportunity for a well-rounded machinist who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working on different types of parts. The primary role will be manual machining while providing CNC coverage when needed.
Pay:
$28.00
  • $35.
00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
