DS Woodworks Job Overview DS Woodworks is bringing a CNC into the shop and needs an experienced operator who equipped with the skills to run it. We are getting set up with the machine, but we do not have the manpower to dial it in, maintain it, or train the rest of the team. This role is for an operator who can take ownership of the CNC, get it producing clean parts, and teach the shop how to use it. You will also run the edgebander and table saw as part of daily production. Responsibilities Take ownership of the
CNC:
set it up, dial it in, and keep it running reliably Train shop staff on safe CNC operation, tooling, setups, and basic maintenance Load programs, change bits, and verify settings before each run Read shop drawings and cut lists to confirm dimensions, grain direction, and part orientation Inspect parts off the machine for accuracy and edge quality before they move to assembly Operate the edgebander and table saw as part of the production flow Handle routine CNC maintenance, including tooling, hold-down, cleaning, and calibration Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC equipment in a woodworking or cabinet shop Able to train others — not just run the machine yourself Comfortable getting a new CNC set up, calibrated, and into regular production Ability to read shop drawings, cut lists, and machine output Experience running an edgebander and table saw Strong attention to detail with measurements, tool paths, and material handling Programming experience (Cabinet Vision, VCarve, Fusion, or similar) is a plus Why Join Us This is a chance to own the CNC side of a growing custom shop.
