Full-Time Job Summary Smeding Diesel is looking for a dependable and hardworking Shop Helper / CNC Machine Operator to assist with our day-to-day manufacturing and shop operations. This is an entry-level position . Previous CNC experience is a plus, but not required. We are willing to train the right person who is mechanically inclined, dependable, and willing to learn. The primary responsibility of this position will be assisting with and operating CNC machines used to manufacture diesel performance components. The employee will also help with general shop and production duties as needed. Responsibilities Operate CNC machines after proper training Load and unload parts from CNC machines Start and monitor CNC machining cycles Inspect finished parts for obvious defects Use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers Keep CNC machines supplied with material Clean finished parts and remove chips/debris Perform basic machine cleaning and maintenance Monitor tooling and notify a supervisor when tools need attention or replacement Organize finished and unfinished parts Help maintain production flow throughout the shop Assist with deburring, cleaning, and preparing machined parts Keep machines and surrounding work areas clean and organized Assist with inventory, receiving, and moving materials when needed Follow all safety procedures Perform other general shop duties as needed Qualifications No previous CNC experience required - we can train the right person Mechanically inclined and comfortable working around machinery Able to follow instructions and established procedures Dependable and able to show up to work on time Good attention to detail Willing to learn how to use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment Comfortable using basic hand and power tools Able to stand for extended periods Able to lift approximately 50 lbs Willing to keep work areas clean and organized Able to work independently once trained Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Previous experience with CNC mills, CNC lathes, machining, manufacturing, or metalworking is a plus but not required . The employee will primarily be responsible for loading parts, operating machines, monitoring production, checking parts, and keeping the machines running efficiently.
Pay:
$17.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
