Title:
CNC Operator (Marine / Shipyard)
Job Summary:
The CNC Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines to manufacture and repair marine components. The role involves working with metal parts used in shipbuilding, offshore structures, and vessel maintenance, ensuring precision and quality as per engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate CNC machines (lathe, milling, drilling) for marine components. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Set up machines, tools, and materials according to job requirements. Perform machining of ship parts such as shafts, flanges, valves, and fittings. Monitor machine operations and adjust settings to maintain quality standards. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machines. Ensure compliance with safety standards and shipyard regulations. Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments (vernier, micrometer, gauges). Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and fabrication teams. Maintain records of production and report any defects or issues.
Requirements:
Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 2-5 years of experience as a CNC Operator, preferably in marine/shipyard industry. Knowledge of CNC programming (G-code/M-code is an advantage). Familiarity with marine materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and alloys. Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring tools. Basic knowledge of safety procedures in offshore/shipyard environments.
Pay:
$25.08 - $30.21 per hour
