We do production machining, contract manufacturing, and prototyping for clients who expect parts to actually come out right. Our second shift is growing, and we're looking for someone who shows up, pays attention, and takes pride in a clean setup and a good part. Whether you're an experienced machinist who can run the whole show, or a capable operator ready to grow into one•let's talk. What You'll Do Day-to-day, you'll be running CNC mills and/or lathes on second shift, keeping things moving, and making sure the parts hitting the shelf are actually good. Load and unload parts; keep machines running through the shift Perform tooling changes, offsets, and minor program adjustments as needed Inspect parts using standard measuring tools (calipers, mics, gauges) Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T callouts Detect and report equipment malfunctions or tooling issues Deburr, clean, and prep finished parts Follow work orders, process documentation, and quality standards Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Work with the day shift and shop leads to ensure smooth handoffs What You Bring — Essential (Operator) You'll need at least these skills to hit the ground running: Some CNC machine operation experience in a precision manufacturing environment Basic shop math, measuring, and hand tools Ability to read and understand technical documentation and process drawings Attention to detail and commitment to quality output Ability to follow written and oral instructions from leads and supervisors Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods Must be able to read, write, and understand English for workplace safety Because of the nature of our work, you must be a U.S Citizen. Even Better If You Have — Preferred (Machinist) These skills will make you stand out and open up more opportunity here: 2+ years of CNC machining and setup experience Ability to set up and operate mills and/or lathes independently Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills Experience machining a variety of metals (ex. steel, titanium, Inconel, etc.) Familiarity with Fanuc, Mazatrol, or similar CNC controls Experience adjusting feeds, speeds, and tooling to hit quality requirements Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems (helpful, not required) Any CAM software exposure (Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.) is a bonus Why Ballard Machine Works? Available hours are:
First Shift:
7:00 AM•3:00 PM or 8:00 AM•4:00
PM Second Shift:
