Job Description

CNC Setup Operator Our client is seeking a CNC Setup Operator to join a precision manufacturing team producing high-quality machined components for demanding industries. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on machining, problem-solving, and working in a collaborative production environment. This role is on-site in Washougal, Washington. CNC Setup Operator Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to manufacture precision components that meet engineering specifications and quality standards. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions to ensure accurate machine setup and production. Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, and workholding equipment while preparing machines for efficient production runs. Load and verify CNC programs, perform first-piece inspections, and confirm machine readiness prior to production. Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment and make wear offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy. Monitor machine performance, identify machining issues, and troubleshoot minor production or equipment concerns to minimize downtime. Maintain accurate production records, inspection documentation, and manufacturing data. Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and preventative care to ensure reliable equipment performance. Partner with programmers, engineers, quality personnel, and supervisors to improve machining processes, productivity, and product quality. Follow established safety procedures while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. CNC Setup Operator Qualifications 2-6+ of CNC machining experience with independent machine setup experience. Experience setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, or similar precision machining equipment. Ability to independently prepare machines for production, including tooling, fixtures, workholding, and program verification. Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical documentation. Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, and height gauges. Strong understanding of machining fundamentals, including tooling selection, inserts, feeds, speeds, offsets, and close-tolerance manufacturing. Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention to detail. Experience with Haas CNC machines, aerospace, defense, marine, or other high-precision manufacturing environments is preferred. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, ERP systems, forklift or overhead crane operation is a plus.
Compensation:
