Full Job Description Primary Function:
To set up and operate an individual Large CNC machine tool.Tools & Equipment:
Equipment includes a variety of Large CNC machine tools including but not limited to mills, horizontal or vertical lathe, machining center, horizontal boring bar. Equipment includes items such as fixtures, tools, inserts, chucks, heads, cutters, etc., that are standard equipment for the individual machine tool. Appropriate measuring instruments such as gages, micrometers, indicators, etc.; blueprints, process documents, hand tools. .Materials:

Assigned supervisor (typically team leader or process engineer)Direction Exercised:
None Working Procedure:
Receives assignment, drawings, process documents, program tapes, manuscripts and/or verbal instructions. Sets up machines using tools and equipment needed according to standard work instructions and machine requirements. Establishes reference points and sets offsets. May be required to preset tools. Make trial runs or prove out tapes as required. Perform work to tolerances indicated. May be required to perform other miscellaneous duties such as deburring, checking work, or presetting tools during machine cycle. Maintains standard work files, program files, fixtures, tooling, etc. Keeps machine clean and performs daily routine maintenance checks. Handles medium weight materials by hand and heavier materials by hoist or crane. #FMD2026Benefits:
