In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC machine programs to ensure precision, efficiency, and quality in metal machining processes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with CNC lathe and milling machines, particularly 5-axis CNC machines, along with proficiency in CAD/CAM software and blueprint interpretation. Your expertise will directly contribute to streamlining manufacturing operations, reducing waste, and enhancing product quality through lean manufacturing principles and advanced machining techniques. Responsibilities Develop and optimize CNC programs for various machining centers, including CNC lathes and 5-axis CNC milling machines, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications and safety standards. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to accurately translate design intent into machine instructions. Set up machining tools, fixtures, and tooling configurations for efficient production runs while maintaining precision measurement standards using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines. Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or CATIA to assist in designing components or modifying existing designs for manufacturability. Apply CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to generate optimized tool paths for complex geometries involving multi-axis machining operations. Conduct tooling selection and setup procedures for CNC machining centers, ensuring proper calibration and alignment using precision measurement instruments. Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot machining issues, improve process flow through lean manufacturing techniques, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain comprehensive documentation of programs, tooling setups, and process parameters for quality control and repeatability. Support quality assurance activities by performing precision measurements during production runs to verify dimensional accuracy against specifications. Stay updated on advancements in CNC technology, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and CAD/CAM software to enhance manufacturing capabilities. Experience Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or CNC Programmer with a strong background in metal machining processes. Extensive knowledge of Fanuc controls and programming languages used in CNC operations. Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA for engineering design purposes. Hands-on experience programming CNC lathes and milling machines, especially 5-axis CNC equipment. Familiarity with GD&T principles, blueprint reading, and the use of precision measurement tools including bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines. Understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies aimed at reducing waste and improving efficiency. Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately. Experience working with CAM software for tool path generation and optimization. Ability to perform complex geometry calculations and apply mathematical concepts relevant to precision machining. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional eager to advance manufacturing excellence through innovative programming solutions. We welcome candidates committed to precision engineering standards who are ready to contribute their skills toward achieving operational excellence in a fast-paced environment. CIV123
