Summary:
The CNC Programmer will assist in setting up and maintaining manufacturing lines for fabricated aluminum products and assemblies at the Fabrication Center. Programming CNC machines and acts as a liaison with CNC operators
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Responsible to storage in good condition the tooling related to CNC process as well as to have the inventory of it.
  • Responsible to keep a good inventory of spare parts required for the CNC Process.
  • Must be able to produce both turned and machined parts to customer specifications, in order to do this, a programmer/tech must have knowledge of tooling (fixtures, vises, or other work holding devices, etc.) Must have knowledge of cutting tools (end mills, drills, taps, reamers, etc.)
  • Layout and write programs for prototypes and samples for machining and turning centers with short response times.
Set-up all machines in shop. What will make you successful? Must be able to understand and deliver basic commands in English. Must be able to use and maintain all basic tools and measuring equipment pertinent to their specific position.
Skills:
Must have good machining skills. Must have good inspection skills. Must have excellent math skills.
Experience:
Minimum two years' experience in CNC machining. Close tolerance expertise (.002). Layout and write programs for prototypes and samples for machining and turning centers with short response times.
