Engineering Manager Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Mill/Lathe Programmer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing. This role involves programming, setting up, and operating multi-axis CNC milling and turning machines to produce precision aerospace components that meet stringent industry standards. Candidates must be proficient in CAM software, blueprint reading, GD&T, and quality control procedures typical of AS9100-certified environments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop complex CNC programs for mills and lathes using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, CATIA, Fusion 360).
  • Assist shop floor to setup machine and program during first time runs.
  • Interpret aerospace blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T standards.
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters for each job.
  • Perform first-article inspections (FAIs) and ensure parts meet AS9100 quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, quality control, and production staff to optimize processes and ensure compliance.
  • Troubleshoot machining and programming issues in real time.
  • Maintain documentation, setup sheets, and revision history per aerospace regulations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of CNC programming and setup experience in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Proficient in G-code and CAM software (Mastercam, CATIA, Fusion 360, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of aerospace standards, including AS9100, FAA, and NADCAP requirements.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments and CMM reports.
  • Familiarity with multi-axis machining, tight tolerances (±.0002"), and exotic materials (Titanium, Inconel, Aluminum alloys).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Skills:
  • Mastercam certification and 5+ years programming experience using Mastercam
  • Fixturing / Tool design and work holding
  • Experience using Solidworks to create solid models & drawings
  • Experience with Haas, Mazak, or Okuma controls.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and DNC networks.
  • Knowledge of SPC and lean/5S methodologies.
  • Experience with tooling optimization and cycle time reduction.
  • Experience with machining of assemblies including sheet metal components
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
