Job Title:
CNC Programmer Job Description This role focuses on creating, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs using Mastercam for an aerospace and defense manufacturing environment that specializes in machining large parts. You collaborate closely with the engineering team and shop-floor machinists to ensure all programs run efficiently, meet quality standards, and support precise and reliable production. Responsibilities Create and modify CNC programs using Mastercam for CNC lathes and other CNC machining equipment. Collaborate with the engineering team to develop, review, and refine CNC programs for new and existing parts. Work directly with machinists on the production floor to validate that CNC programs run correctly and efficiently. Troubleshoot and adjust CNC programs to resolve machining issues and improve cycle times and part quality. Support the setup and operation of CNC lathes and other CNC machines by providing accurate and clear programming instructions. Ensure CNC programs comply with aerospace and defense manufacturing requirements and internal quality standards. Optimize tool paths, cutting parameters, and machining strategies to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Maintain organized documentation of programs, revisions, and process changes for future reference and continuous improvement. Essential Skills Hands-on experience in CNC programming with Mastercam. Proficiency in programming and supporting CNC lathes. Practical experience in CNC machining, including working with complex or large parts. Background in aerospace or aerospace/defense manufacturing environments. Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and shop-floor machinists. Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving machining and programming issues. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, precise components. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience machining large, complex components in a production environment. Familiarity with aerospace and defense quality requirements and standards. Comfort working with both engineering documentation and shop-floor instructions. Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and process documentation. Interest in continuous improvement of machining processes and programming methods. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cerritos, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
