In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, programming, and optimizing waterjet cutting operations to ensure precision and efficiency. Your expertise in CNC Waterjet programming, CAD/CAM software, and mechanical blueprint interpretation will drive high-quality production of complex parts. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and contribute to lean manufacturing processes that emphasize continuous improvement and operational excellence. Duties Develop and modify CNC waterjet programs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software s to produce precise cuts based on detailed blueprints. Set up waterjet cutting machines, including configuring tooling, calibrating equipment, and ensuring optimal machine parameters for various materials. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and engineering drawings to accurately translate design specifications into machine instructions. Perform precision measurement and quality control using measurement tools like bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions against specifications. Maintain and troubleshoot CNC waterjet machinery, including Fanuc controls and other CNC systems, ensuring reliable operation and minimal downtime. Implement lean manufacturing principles by optimizing machining processes, reducing waste, and improving cycle times through continuous process improvements. Collaborate with engineering teams to develop new tooling setups for CNC machining centers such as 5-axis CNC machines, CNC lathes, or CNC milling machines to enhance production capabilities. Skills Proficiency in CNC programming for waterjet cutting using CAD/CAM software. Strong understanding of Fanuc controls and other CNC control systems for setup and troubleshooting. Experience with blueprint reading, GD&T interpretation, and mechanical blueprint analysis. Knowledge of machining tools setup including tooling selection and calibration for precision cuts on various metals and materials. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus for integrated manufacturing workflows. Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret schematics and mechanical drawings accurately. Skilled in measurement techniques using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, micrometers, CMMs, and other precision measurement instruments to ensure quality standards are met. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and improve efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Ability to program in engineering-focused languages or software related to CNC machining operations. Strong math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and other machining parameters necessary for precision manufacturing.
