We are seeking a CNC Programmer with expert-level mill-turn experience to support the machining of highly engineered aerospace components. This individual will be the go-to technical resource for complex mill-turn programming, process development, and machining optimization.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for complex mill-turn machining centers used to manufacture precision aerospace components, latches, hinges, and related hardware.
Utilize ESTRI software and CAD/CAM programming tools to create efficient machining strategies that maximize quality, throughput, and machine utilization.
Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Tooling, and Machining teams to support new product introductions, process improvements, and production requirements.
Select tooling, establish machining sequences, determine cutting parameters, and troubleshoot machining issues to ensure dimensional accuracy and repeatability.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by reducing cycle times, improving tool life, minimizing scrap, and enhancing overall manufacturing performance.
Required QualificationsExtensive CNC programming experience in a precision manufacturing environment, with significant hands-on expertise supporting mill-turn equipment; approximately 10 years of experience is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of multi-axis machining, complex aerospace machining practices, GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement techniques.
Experience using ESTRI software and/or advanced CAD/CAM programming systems for CNC program development and optimization.
Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing standards, process validation, tooling selection, fixture design concepts, and quality requirements.
Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to support both prototype and production manufacturing environments.
Preferred BackgroundAerospace manufacturing experience producing tight-tolerance, flight-critical components.
Experience supporting high-mix, low-to-medium volume machining operations.
Familiarity with AS9100-controlled manufacturing environments.
Experience with new product introduction and process development.
Proven ability to mentor machinists and junior programmers while driving manufacturing excellence.
