Job Description

Apollo Opening Roof | Northern California Apollo Opening Roof is a U.S. manufacturer of premium extruded aluminum louvered roof systems. We manufacture custom systems using Emmegi Satellite XTE 5-axis CNC machining, precision aluminum fabrication, and modern production equipment at our Northern California manufacturing facility. We are looking for an experienced, mechanically minded CNC Programmer / Operator to program and operate our Emmegi Satellite XTE machining center and be a part of our overall production team. This is an important production position requiring someone who can interpret structural drawings, determine machining requirements, accurately program parts, set up and operate the CNC, and verify that finished components meet our dimensional and quality standards. Position Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate an Emmegi Satellite XTE 5-axis CNC machining center used to mill, drill, cut, and machine aluminum extrusions using Emmegi specific software CamPLUS, Shape, Job and H Drill. Review blueprints, structural drawings, fabrication drawings, cut lists, shop orders, and production documentation to determine machining requirements. Translate drawing dimensions and component requirements into accurate CNC machining operations and programs. Create, modify, select, and verify CNC programs for individual components and production orders. Determine proper part orientation, machining locations, tooling, clamping positions, and sequence of operations before running parts. Measure and inspect machined components using digital calipers, tape measures, gauges, and other measuring equipment. Maintain dimensional accuracy and consistent production quality throughout each manufacturing order. Identify programming, tooling, material, setup, or machining problems and make appropriate corrections before additional material is processed. Change, inspect, and maintain cutting tools as required. Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication checks, tool inspections, chip removal, and basic preventative maintenance. Maintain accurate production records and communicate discrepancies or drawing questions to production management. Coordinate with cutting, fabrication, assembly, and production personnel to keep jobs moving efficiently. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe CNC work area and follow established machine-safety procedures. Qualifications CNC machining experience is required.
Ideal candidates will have:
A minimum of 2 year experience programming and operating CNC machining equipment. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, fabrication drawings, and dimensional information. Strong math, measurement, and spatial-reasoning skills. Ability to accurately translate drawing dimensions into machining locations and operations. Experience using calipers and other precision measuring tools. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Ability to recognize when a program, tool, machine setup, extrusion, or finished component does not look correct and stop production before material is damaged. Experience working with aluminum extrusions or other long-profile CNC machining is highly desirable. Experience with Emmegi machinery is highly desirable. Experience with Emmegi CamPLUS, JOBS, or similar CNC programming software is a major plus. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of work quality. Consistent attention to detail and pride in producing accurate parts. Ability to safely handle long aluminum profiles and work on your feet throughout the shift. The Person We're Looking For This is not simply a machine-loading or start-button operator position. We are looking for someone who understands CNC machining and can look at a structural or fabrication drawing, understand what needs to be manufactured, program the machine accordingly, verify the setup, and confirm that the finished component is correct. The right person will take ownership of the machining process—from drawing interpretation and programming through finished-part inspection. Experience specifically with an Emmegi Satellite is valuable, but we will consider an experienced CNC programmer/operator with strong mechanical ability and the aptitude to quickly learn our equipment, software, products, and production processes. About the Equipment Our Emmegi Satellite XTE is a 5-axis CNC machining center designed for large aluminum profiles and performs milling, drilling, threading, and cutting operations. The position requires working with both the CNC equipment and associated programming/production software to manufacture custom components accurately and efficiently.
