About the Company Our client is a leading custom architectural millwork and fabrication partner delivering highly engineered, design-driven interior environments for specialty projects. The Role This is a hands-on engineering and manufacturing position with true end-to-end ownership of custom CNC work orders. Rather than handing a project between drafting, programming, and production, the Manufacturing Engineer will take work from the architectural drawing through shop drawings, CNC programming, and ultimately the finished part. Candidates interested in spending time operating CNC equipment will also have the opportunity to do so. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both CAD/CAM engineering and hands-on manufacturing and wants to see their work progress from a drawing on the screen to a finished product on the shop floor. Key Responsibilities Engineering & Drafting Create detailed shop drawings and parts lists from architectural drawings for custom casework Interpret complex architectural and construction documents Identify constructability and machinability issues before work reaches production Translate design intent into accurate, manufacturable components CNC Programming & Manufacturing Develop CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis equipment Own custom work orders from drawing through programming and finished production Troubleshoot programming, fixturing, machining, and tolerancing issues on the shop floor Opportunity to operate CNC equipment directly for candidates interested in combining engineering and machining responsibilities Project & Production Coordination Partner closely with production leadership to prioritize and sequence multiple concurrent work orders Resolve technical issues quickly to keep projects moving through production Maintain ownership and accountability throughout the entire manufacturing process Qualifications Demonstrated CNC programming experience, with 3-axis experience required and 5-axis experience strongly preferred Strong proficiency with CAD/CAM platforms such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent Ability to independently move from drawing development into CNC programming Hands-on machining or fabrication experience with CNC equipment, mills, lathes, or similar machinery Ability to independently read and interpret detailed architectural and construction drawings Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machining, materials, and tolerancing Highly self-directed with the ability to own projects from print through finished part Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent work orders Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred Work Environment Full-time, on-site position in the San Francisco Bay Area Hands-on environment combining engineering, programming, and manufacturing Exposure to challenging, highly customized architectural projects Significant ownership over individual work orders and their successful execution EEO Statement All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
Pay:
$120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
