Our backers include JPMorgan Chase, Valor Equity Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, 137 Ventures, Lux Capital, T. Rowe Price, and Morgan Stanley. If you want the most challenging and rewarding work of your career—and to help create American manufacturing jobs for decades—this is your moment. The Opportunity As a 5‑Axis NC Programming Specialist, you sit at the intersection of hands‑on manufacturing and software R D. You'll own the creation of robust CAM packages and CNC programs for complex, tight‑tolerance components, enabling our machinists to execute with speed, repeatability, and confidence. Your output becomes the foundation of our production throughput and a proving ground for the technologies moving manufacturing forward. A Day in the Life Translate part intent into clear CAM strategies that follow Hadrian's programming and design principles. Produce comprehensive, plain‑spoken setup and work instructions so even early‑career technicians can achieve first‑run success. Partner with internal product teams to trial new automation, capture feedback, and quickly iterate. Continuously refine programs based on shop‑floor input to scale repeatable results across hundreds of units. Contribute to our knowledge base—tooling, workholding, application processes, and manufacturing methods—so every program is better than the last. Core Responsibilities Generate precise, efficient CNC toolpaths and posts that meet internal standards and deliver reliable machine performance at pace. Document process intent and checks to de‑risk execution for all skill levels. Surface software bugs, workflow friction, and anomalies immediately; help prioritize fixes with engineering. Design and model 3D fixtures in Siemens NX using advanced practices (3‑2‑1 locating, Poka‑Yoke error‑proofing, equation‑driven design) and adhere to rigorous design‑tree discipline. Operate in hyperMILL and NX using Hadrian's automation suite; lean on our Co‑Pilot CAM integration every day to accelerate programming. Communicate crisply through email, chat, and productivity tools to unblock teammates fast. What You Bring Hands‑on experience programming 3‑ and/or 5‑axis CNC equipment for high‑precision production parts. Background in aerospace or similarly regulated, tolerance‑critical industries. Command of shop safety, quality systems, and intelligent tool selection. Working knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret CMM data and other measurements to diagnose dimensional instability and drive process improvements. Curiosity and resilience—comfortable trying new approaches and pushing development workstreams within an active production environment. Integrity under pressure; bias to action and team‑first problem solving. Stand‑Out Differentiators Experience with steels, stainless, titanium, and Inconel. Deep 5‑axis proficiency; exposure to mill‑turn is a plus. Integration of probing routines within CNC programs. Manufacturing data analysis skills; familiarity with tools to reveal trends and inefficiencies. Lifelong learner attuned to Industry 4.0, IoT, AI in manufacturing, and lean fundamentals; high adaptability to evolving tech.
