FK Instrument is seeking an experienced Multi-Axis CNC Lathe Machinist / Programmer to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating complex CNC turning equipment to produce precision components to tight tolerances. The ideal candidate is a skilled machinist who can work independently from blueprint through finished part, including developing programs, determining tooling and setup requirements, proving out programs, and making adjustments as needed. Candidates must have hands-on experience with twin-turret, twin-spindle CNC lathes. Experience programming with ESPRIT is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate multi-axis, twin-turret, twin-spindle CNC lathes Develop and modify CNC programs based on engineering drawings, models, and specifications Program complex turning operations involving twin turrets, twin spindles, live tooling, and multi-axis machining Coordinate machining operations between turrets and spindles for efficient part production Determine appropriate tooling, workholding, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies Perform machine setups, including tooling, fixtures, offsets, and workholding Prove out new and existing programs and make necessary adjustments to optimize quality and cycle time Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment Maintain tight tolerances and ensure parts meet all dimensional and quality requirements Troubleshoot programming, tooling, setup, and machining issues Make offsets and program adjustments as needed to maintain part quality Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes Follow all safety, quality, and documentation requirements Qualifications 5+ years of CNC machining experience, with strong CNC lathe/turning experience

Required:

Experience programming, setting up, and operating twin-turret, twin-spindle CNC lathes Experience with multi-axis turning and live tooling ESPRIT programming experience preferred Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge Ability to machine and inspect parts to tight tolerances Experience in aerospace, defense, or other precision manufacturing environments preferred What We're Looking For We're looking for more than a machine operator. The right candidate will have the machining knowledge and programming ability to take ownership of complex jobs from programming and setup through first-piece approval and production . This individual must be comfortable working with twin-turret, twin-spindle equipment and troubleshooting complex machining challenges independently.
