Job Summary We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC programs for various machining processes, ensuring precision and efficiency. This role requires a strong background in SolidWorks and CAD/CAM software, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge to produce high-quality components using 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC mills, and CNC lathes. The CNC Programmer will collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to improve processes and uphold safety standards. Duties Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM programming software such as CAMWorks to meet production specifications. Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to ensure accurate machining operations. Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with precision tooling. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions. Optimize machining processes through lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, geometry, or machine performance; make necessary adjustments for quality control. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, and process improvements for continuous manufacturing excellence. Collaborate with engineering teams on CAD models using SolidWorks or CATIA for tool design and fixture development. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment. Skills Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code. Experience with Fanuc and
HAAS CNC
machine interfaces. Strong knowledge of CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA for designing parts and fixtures. Expertise in CAM programming for CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with GD&T specifications. Mechanical knowledge of tooling, fixtures, bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and precision measuring instruments. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to enhance process efficiency. Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, tooling selection, geometry calculations, and schematics interpretation. Strong math skills essential for precise measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances. Experience working with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) reports for quality assurance purposes. CNC Programming Required Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret procedure manuals. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other employees, managers, vendors, and customers
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to interpret graphs.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of standard computer programs including Microsoft Office products.

$65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

What steps do you take to ensure accuracy on a first‑run part? Process Optimization — Describe a time you improved cycle time, reduced waste, or optimized a machining process using lean principles. Blueprint Reading & GD&T — Describe a part you programmed that required interpreting tight GD&T tolerances. Which callouts were most critical, and how did you ensure compliance? Can you successfully pass a drug screen? Can you successfully pass a background screen? This position supports work performed for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).
