Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs to ensure precise and efficient machining of metal components. Your expertise in CNC programming, tooling setup, and blueprint interpretation will drive quality and productivity on a variety of advanced machining equipment, including 5-axis CNC machines and CNC lathes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing processes while working with state-of-the-art technology such as Fanuc controls, CAD/CAM software, and precision measurement instruments. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your technical skills can make a tangible impact, this is the role for you! Responsibilities Develop and write CNC programs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent tools to produce complex parts with high precision. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate machining processes. Set up CNC machining tools and fixtures on equipment like CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or 5-axis CNC machines to optimize production runs. Select appropriate tooling, including cutting tools and fixtures, based on part requirements and material properties. Conduct machine calibration and perform precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part quality. Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling wear, or program errors; implement improvements following lean manufacturing principles. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, tooling configurations, and quality control records to ensure traceability and continuous improvement. Collaborate with engineering teams on CAD design modifications and provide feedback for manufacturability improvements. Experience Proven experience programming CNC machines such as CNC milling machines or CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls and familiarity with other control systems is highly desirable. Proficiency in CAD software like SolidWorks or CATIA for design interpretation and CAD-based programming. Hands-on experience with CAM software for toolpath generation and optimization. Understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical blueprint interpretation for accurate part production. Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste in machining operations. Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret schematics and use precision measurement tools such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Join us if you're passionate about precision engineering and eager to advance your career in a cutting-edge manufacturing environment!
