Milling Set-Up Programmer Shift:

Shift Experience:
10+ Years Required Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Milling Set-Up Programmer with extensive hands-on experience in CNC machining, machine set-ups, and program creation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working with horizontal milling machines , a deep understanding of precision machining practices, and the ability to independently set up, troubleshoot, and optimize machining operations. This role is key in ensuring high-quality parts, efficient cycle times, and smooth production flow. Key ResponsibilitiesCNC Programming & Set-Up Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for milling operations (horizontal experience strongly preferred). Perform complete machine set-ups including tooling, fixturing, offsets, and workholding alignment. Verify program accuracy through dry runs, first-piece checks, and process validation. Machining & Production Support Operate CNC mills to produce precision components to print. Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings. Select proper tooling, cutters, and speeds/feeds for materials and tolerances. Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust programs, and make process improvements. Quality & Documentation Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision instruments. Document program changes, set-up notes, and process improvements. Ensure all parts meet customer and internal quality standards. Collaboration & Leadership Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical challenges. Mentor junior machinists or set-up technicians as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, safety-focused work environment. Qualifications 10+ years of CNC milling experience , including set-ups and programming. Strong experience with horizontal milling machines (preferred). Demonstrated knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, etc.). Skilled in blueprint reading, GD&T, and advanced machining fundamentals. Ability to work independently on 1st shift with minimal supervision. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Compensation Starting at $35/hr , with flexibility to negotiate based on experience and skill level. Full-time 1st shift position with potential overtime depending on production needs.
