At Hydro, Inc.—a Chicago-based global leader in industrial pump reengineering since 1969—you'll turn complex requirements into precision parts that keep critical systems moving. We're the world's largest independent pump rebuilder, and we're adding a second-shift specialist who thrives at the intersection of programming and machining. Is this you? You have 3+ years programming Mazak lathes using Mazatrol—and you can modify programs quickly for custom work. You're equally comfortable setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills. Large, refurbished parts don't intimidate you; complete setups are your norm. You understand tool layout and how to stage raw material for smooth flow. Holding 0.001" tolerance from raw stock or castings is standard practice for you, with safety and quality always first. Prints with conventional and geometric tolerances are clear and actionable in your hands. Speeds and feeds? You adjust them instinctively to hit productivity goals. From calipers to advanced gauges, you're fluent with varied measuring tools. Radii, bolt circles, and dimensional math are part of your everyday toolkit. You collaborate well with a high-performing shop team and can excel solo. What you'll do Program, set up, and run Mazak lathes (Mazatrol) and mills to produce precise pump components. You'll take ownership from program edits through first-article verification, optimizing parameters and validating results to ensure every part meets exacting specs and deadlines. Why Hydro Work that matters, backed by a company with a 50+ year legacy. Expect excellent compensation for the right candidate and a clear runway for career advancement as you expand your impact across increasingly complex parts and processes.
