We are a manufacturer of high precision tools for a variety of high precision industries. The ideal candidate will operate, set up, and maintain precision grinding machines to produce high-quality metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, blueprint interpretation, and measurement techniques to ensure products meet strict specifications. Duties Set up and operate various grinding machines including ANCA and Rollermatic. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications, tolerances, and machining sequences. Program CNC grinding machines using Tool Room or VG Pro. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measurement tools to verify part accuracy in accordance with GD&T. Perform machine calibration, adjustments, and routine maintenance to maintain consistent quality and efficiency. Inspect finished parts for defects or deviations from specifications through visual inspection and measurement techniques. Walter Helicheck machine experience a plus. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols. Collaborate with team members on tooling selection, machine setup, and process improvements. Support quality control processes by participating in CNC quality inspections and ensuring compliance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards. Skills Proficiency in CNC G-code programming and M-code for grinding operations. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately. Skilled in using machining tools such as hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and precision measuring instruments. Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks or general CAD programs for tooling design or interpretation. Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to metal machining and CNC milling machines. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments. Understanding of GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality assurance. Mechanical aptitude combined with problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine issues efficiently. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control during all phases of production.
