Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using G‑code and CAM software (e.g., CamWorks, Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM). Must be able to program CNC 3-axis and 5-axis mills using Cam software. Reading complex prints, designs, able to transfer in and out of CNC machines Work from drawings, sketches, specifications and verbal instructions to make parts. Must be able to navigate Solidworks well, while being able to design and edit models using Solidworks. Must be able to read G & M code. Must also be able to program and operate one or more of the following Specialty machines: CNC Grinder, High Speed Mills or Wire EDMs'. Must be capable and willing to train other machinists, showing them the proper way to use common shop Machine tools and inspection equipment Work to close tolerances Able to inspect own machined components using precision measuring instruments to check accuracy of work Setup machines for operation by others Keep work area and equipment clean Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment Able to work independently on projects with little assistance. And other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Qualifications include:
High School Diploma, or equivalent 3-5 years' experience in a machine shop Knowledge of precision measuring devices The ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and sketches Must have at least 3 years CNC mill programming experience CAMWorks and SolidWorks proficient A proven mechanical aptitude Advanced shop mathematics skills Broad knowledge of machine shop practices Ability to trouble-shoot and problem solve Strong work ethic and follow through Work is subject to process and final inspection Must consistently use safety devices when operating machines Attention to detail a must Must have a good attendance record Must be able to work well with others in the shop
