• Rockford, IL 425 Manufacturing is hiring a skilled CNC machinist/programmer to take ownership of our Haas EC-500 and EC-1600 horizontal machining centers .

This is not a button-pushing position. We are looking for someone who can program, set up, prove out, and run jobs independently in a high-mix, low-volume environment . What This Role Actually Is You will own the horizontals — programming, setup, and production Your primary tool will be Autodesk Fusion 360 You will take parts from print → program → setup → finished part When horizontal work is caught up, you will program and support our Haas vertical mills If you are only comfortable loading programs and hitting cycle start, this is not the role for you . Our Work Aftermarket mining and drill rig components Typical runs: 4-20 pieces Frequent 1-2 piece jobs with multiple unique parts Constant changeover — very little repetition Equipment You'll Run Haas EC-500 (Horizontal, 70 tools) Haas

(Horizontal, 50 tools) Full lineup of Haas VMCs (VF series, TM-1P) Responsibilities Program horizontal mill jobs in Fusion 360 Set up and run the EC-500 and EC-1600 Prove out and optimize your own programs Select tooling, workholding, and machining strategy Hold tight tolerances across short-run parts Manage frequent setups without losing efficiency Step in on vertical mills when needed What We're Looking For Proven ability to program from scratch in Fusion 360 Strong experience with Haas machines and setups Experience with horizontal mills (preferred, not required if highly capable) Comfortable in a high-mix, low-volume shop Understands feeds, speeds, tooling, and workholding — not guessing Works independently and takes ownership of results Who This Is NOT For Button pushers Production-only operators Anyone who relies on others to program or solve problems Schedule 1st
