Job Description

Job Summary Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Lathe programmer with the ability to create and fabricate complex metal parts and products, including smaller pieces and prototypes. The candidate for this position must be proficient with CNC lathes with live tooling (C-axis and Y-axis) capabilities. We utilize Mastercam software and a Haas ST-20Y. We're looking for a versatile, detail-oriented individual who can quickly solve problems without supervision. CNC milling experience is ideal but not mandatory.
Qualifications:
Mandatory:
2-3 years experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes with live tooling
Preferred:
1-2 years experience using
Mastercam Preferred:
1-2 years experience using CNC vertical mills Vocational school or apprenticeship preferred Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail Great verbal and written communication skills Ability to use precision tools (e.g. micrometers, comparator, height gage) to take accurate measurements Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals Knowledge of metal properties and other material Outstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
Responsibilities:
Use files from customer or engineering department to program fixturing, parts, and operations needed to complete the project Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job with the desired end goal in mind Work with the scheduler to organize work orders to meet deadlines Estimate setup and runtimes to assist in quoting Select appropriate tooling for work to be completed Monitor machine while working to adjust the tooling, fixturing, offsets, etc. Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects with actionable steps to locate root cause Collaborate with quality control department to perform inspections Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages Have a goal to continuously improve processes
