Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Swiss Programmer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC Swiss machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC machining, tooling, and blueprint interpretation will drive efficiency and accuracy in our production processes. Responsibilities Develop and optimize CNC Swiss machine programs using CAD/CAM software, ensuring efficient machining processes. Set up CNC Swiss lathes, including tool selection, fixture installation, and calibration for precise operations. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to produce accurate parts. Maintain and troubleshoot CNC equipment such as Fanuc controls, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. Conduct precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools for quality control. Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow efficiency and reduce waste in machining processes. Collaborate with engineering teams on CAD models created with SolidWorks or CATIA to develop tooling and machining strategies for complex parts. Perform routine inspection of machined components to verify adherence to specifications and tolerances using measurement instruments like bore gauges and micrometers. Prepare setup sheets, tooling lists, and process documentation to ensure consistent production standards. Requirements Proven experience programming and operating 5-axis CNC machines, particularly CNC lathes with Swiss-style configurations. Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls and CAM software for CNC programming and machining optimization. Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings with GD&T annotations. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus. Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately for manufacturing purposes. Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or CATIA for design review and tooling development. Skilled in measurement techniques using precision instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and bore gauges for quality assurance. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity while maintaining high-quality standards. Ability to troubleshoot CNC machinery issues quickly to minimize downtime during production runs. Strong math skills relevant to machining calculations and geometric analysis necessary for precise component fabrication.
