Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Programmer specialized in Mill and Lathe operations to join our dynamic manufacturing team in [Location]. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs that drive precision machining processes. Your expertise will ensure the production of high-quality components while adhering to strict specifications and safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing projects using advanced CNC technology and programming techniques. Duties Develop and write CNC programs for milling machines and lathes, utilizing CAD/CAM software to create precise toolpaths. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate machining processes. Set up CNC machining tools and fixtures, including tooling selection, calibration, and alignment for CNC mills and CNC lathes. Perform machining operations on metal components using CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment to meet tight tolerances. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, and other measurement instruments to verify part quality. Optimize machining processes through lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity. Troubleshoot programming issues or machine malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime and maintain continuous production flow. Requirements Proven experience programming CNC mills and lathes with Fanuc controls or similar systems. Strong knowledge of CAD software such as FUSION360, SolidWorks, AutoCAD for engineering CAD design and schematic interpretation. Familiarity with CAM software for toolpath generation and CNC programming in engineering applications. Ability to read mechanical blueprints, schematics, and schematics with GD&T annotations accurately. Mechanical knowledge of machining tools, tooling setup, geometry calculations, and metal cutting processes. Experience with precision measurement instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, micrometers. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations effectively. Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), CNC machines, CNC tooling management, and manufacturing best practices. Strong math skills essential for precise measurement calculations and geometric analysis. Ability to interpret schematics accurately while maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
