Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Lathe Programmer to join our team. You will be responsible for developing, programming, and optimizing CNC lathe machines to produce precision parts that meet strict quality standards. Responsibilities Develop and write CNC lathe programs using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or other industry-standard tools, ensuring optimal tool paths and machining strategies. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings with precision, applying GD&T principles to ensure parts meet exact specifications. Set up CNC lathes, including tooling selection, fixture installation, and machine calibration for efficient production runs. Operate 5-axis CNC machines and other advanced machining equipment like electrical discharge machining (EDM) and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part accuracy. Use of calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, and other measurement instruments to maintain quality control standards throughout the manufacturing process. Troubleshoot machining issues promptly by analyzing geometry, tooling wear, and machine parameters to minimize downtime and ensure consistent output. Requirements Experience in programming CNC lathe machines with Fanuc controls or similar systems. Strong proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA for design interpretation and toolpath creation. Knowledge of CAM software for efficient CNC programming and machining process optimization. Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints and schematics accurately. Mechanical knowledge with experience in metal machining, tooling setup, and understanding of machining tool geometry. Familiarity with measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Understanding of GD&T standards for precise blueprint interpretation. Experience working with CNC milling machines as well as lathes in a manufacturing environment utilizing lean principles. Strong math skills related to geometry, measurement conversions, and engineering calculations necessary for precision machining.
