In this role, you will be responsible for developing precise CNC programs and designing complex components using advanced CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software. Your expertise will drive efficient machining processes on a variety of CNC machines, including 5-axis CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, ensuring high-quality production standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative engineering projects, optimize manufacturing workflows, and enhance product quality through precise programming and design. Responsibilities Mastercam programming CNC mill operation CNC setup and fixturing Fixture design CAD/CAM (SolidWorks/ Mastercam) GD&T Blueprint reading Measuring equipment (CMM, micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.) Ability to troubleshoot and modify fixtures Ability to take a concept/drawing and produce a finished fixture Experience machining aluminum, steel, plastic, and/or tool steels Shop management/supervision experience Develop detailed CNC programs for milling, turning, and multi-axis machining operations utilizing CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, and AutoCAD. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings with a strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards to ensure accurate manufacturing. Set up and operate CNC machinery, including CNC lathes, milling machines, and 5-axis CNC machines, ensuring optimal tool paths and machining parameters. Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and measurement instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and bore gauges to guarantee precision in production. Collaborate with engineering teams to refine designs for manufacturability while adhering to lean manufacturing principles for efficiency. Conduct precision measurements during machining processes to verify part quality using measurement instruments like micrometers and calipers. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, tooling setups, machine calibrations, and quality control records to ensure traceability and continuous improvement. Skills Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as Fanuc controls with a strong understanding of G-code and M-code commands. Expertise in CAD software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, and engineering CAD design tools. Extensive experience with CAM software for programming complex machining operations on multi-axis CNC milling machines and CNC lathes. Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and mechanical blueprint analysis for accurate part fabrication. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes for precision metal removal applications. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with an understanding of geometry, tooling selection, machining tool setup, and schematics interpretation. Ability to implement lean manufacturing techniques to optimize workflow efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards. Experience with measurement techniques involving precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and bore gauges for quality control purposes.
