%20Steel . The CNC Programmer must be capable of making programs for plasma and laser cutters to cut shaft and detail material. This individual will determine the sequence of machine operations and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into desired shapes. The CNC Programmer will revise programs to eliminate errors and test these programs to check that problems have been resolved. \n
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Creates nest sheets for plasma tables using nesting software. Uses CAD files to produce material cut sheets. Reviews all CNC drawings. Reviews heat numbers on cutsheets, making sure they match ERP and bill of ladings. Optimizes material usage using nesting software. Audits material inventory. Analyzes job orders, drawings, blueprints, and specifications in order to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates. Determines reference points, machine cutting paths, or hole locations, and computes dimensions and curvatures.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CNC PROGRAMMER
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to interpret blueprints required. Ability to read a tape measure required. CNC Programming experience preferred. Experience using plasma machines, nesting software, and Autocad preferred. Regular, reliable attendance is required. \n
