Position Summary The CNC Programmer/Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling and turning equipment to produce precision components. This role requires strong Mastercam programming skills, hands-on machining experience, and the ability to work independently from blueprint to finished part. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities Program CNC machines using Mastercam (required). Set up and operate Haas 3-axis vertical milling machines and other shop equipment. Create, edit, and optimize G-code programs for efficient machining. Perform complete machine setups including work offsets, tool length offsets, and fixture alignment. Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and machining strategies based on material and geometry. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T requirements. Machine tight‑tolerance components in ferrous, non‑ferrous, and plastic materials. Perform in‑process and final inspections using precision measurement tools. Calculate cutting speeds and feeds to optimize cycle time and tool life. Troubleshoot machining issues including chatter, tool wear, chip evacuation, and surface finish. Maintain tooling, equipment, and machine calibration. Perform secondary operations such as deburring and polishing. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Communicate effectively with engineering, quality, and production teams. Supervisory Responsibility None Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical/vocational training in machining or manufacturing preferred.

5 years (Preferred) Hardinge Chucker Laythe (Preferred) Bridgeport Knee Mill (Preferred) ProtoTrak Bed Mill (Preferred) Skills/Technical Requirements Strong Mastercam programming proficiency. Ability to independently program, set up, and run CNC machines. Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills. Proficiency with precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, and optical comparators. Ability to analyze machining processes and make improvements. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple jobs. Job Conditions Work performed in a machine shop environment with intermittent noise. May require standing for extended periods. Occasional overtime based on production needs. Physical Demands/Strengths Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Ability to stand, bend,, and move around machinery. Ability to use hands for tool handling, measurement, and machine operation. Protective Devices Required Safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE required in designated areas.

$30.00 - $42.00 per hour
