A CNC Programmer programs computer-controlled equipment used to cut wood, plastic, or metal according to precise measurements, or equipment used for different manufacturing processes.

Position Summary [Confidential] is seeking motivated and detail-oriented CNC Operators and CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and securing workpieces and tooling, programming and operating CNC equipment, interpreting CAD data, developing cutter paths using WorkNC software , and machining high-quality components while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Set up and secure workpieces, fixtures, and tooling for CNC machining operations. Read and interpret CAD data, engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications. Develop and execute cutter paths using WorkNC software. Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and related equipment. Select appropriate cutters, feeds, and speeds to maximize efficiency and part quality. Plan machining sequences to optimize material removal and production flow. Verify machine settings and inspect first-run and finished parts. Perform deburring, finishing, and preparation of machined components for assembly. Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs, tooling, or machine settings as needed. Maintain production records, quality documentation, and machining logs. Perform preventive maintenance and routine cleaning of machines and work areas. Monitor equipment performance and communicate maintenance requirements. Follow all company quality standards and safety procedures. Qualifications Junior CNC Operator Candidates Preferred qualifications include: CNC certificate or vocational training. Basic CNC machine operation experience. Exposure to CNC programming. Steel cutting or metalworking background. Mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing. Ability to read measuring instruments and perform basic math calculations. Experience performing routine machine cleaning and preventive maintenance. Experience assisting senior operators or setup technicians. Strong willingness to learn CNC machining, setup, and programming processes. Experienced CNC Programmer/Operator Candidates Preferred qualifications include: High School Diploma or equivalent. CNC programming and setup experience. WorkNC programming experience preferred. Strong understanding of machining processes, cutter selection, and material removal techniques. Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements. Experience programming CNC mills and/or lathes. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to use shop equipment, machine controllers, and CNC software effectively. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must possess required hand tools for the position.
