Position Summary We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to join our custom injection mold manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience and be capable of independently programming, setting up, and operating multiple CNC machining centers. This position requires strong experience machining precision injection mold components, including cavities and cores, while maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes. The successful candidate must be able to take a job from CAD data and/or blueprint through programming, setup, machining, inspection, and completion with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities Independently program, set up, and operate two CNC machining centers . Program and machine precision components used in custom injection molds. Machine injection mold cavities, cores, inserts, and related mold components . Develop efficient roughing, semi-finishing, and finishing machining strategies. Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, workholding methods, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters. Perform complete machine setups, including workholding, tooling, offsets, and work coordinate systems. Read and interpret blueprints, CAD data, GD&T, dimensions, and engineering specifications . Consistently machine components requiring tolerances of ±.001" or tighter when required . Inspect machined components using appropriate precision measuring equipment. Verify dimensions and machining results throughout the manufacturing process. Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary program, tooling, or process adjustments. Identify and troubleshoot cutting tool failures , including premature wear, breakage, chatter, poor finish, and dimensional issues. Perform and evaluate cutting tool trials to improve tool life, machining performance, cycle time, and part quality. Optimize CNC programs, toolpaths, speeds, and feeds to improve machining efficiency. Monitor multiple CNC machines while maintaining quality and productivity. Maintain accurate job, tooling, and machining information. Work closely with engineering, moldmakers, and other manufacturing personnel to resolve machining and tooling issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience . Demonstrated ability to independently program, set up, and operate CNC machining centers . Experience machining injection mold cavities and cores . Strong understanding of CNC machining practices and cutting tool applications. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&T . Experience machining components to ±.001" tolerances . Strong knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters. Ability to troubleshoot cutting tool and machining problems. Experience performing cutting tool trials and evaluating machining results. Ability to use precision measuring equipment to verify completed work. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple machining operations. Preferred Qualifications 5-axis CNC machining experience is a plus. Cimatron programming experience is preferred but not required. Experience working in a custom injection mold manufacturing environment . Experience machining hardened tool steels and common mold materials. Experience with high-speed machining and precision mold finishing strategies. Skills & Abilities Strong mechanical and machining aptitude. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to maintain tight tolerances and quality requirements. Strong understanding of machining processes from roughing through finishing. Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple machines effectively. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Dependable and capable of working with minimal supervision. Team-oriented with the ability to communicate effectively with engineering, moldmaking, and manufacturing personnel.

Pay:

From $26.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
