We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support our engineering and manufacturing teams in developing efficient machining processes and high-quality CNC programs. The successful candidate will work closely with Product Engineering, Tool Design, and Manufacturing to optimise machining strategies, tooling, cycle times, and overall production performance. Key Responsibilities Work alongside Engineering teams to develop effective machining sequences that deliver high-quality components while minimising cycle times. Develop and modify CNC programs for both Milling and Turning operations using Mastercam, working closely with the Product Engineer. Support Tool Design in developing suitable work-holding, fixturing, and gauging concepts for individual manufacturing operations. Collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to review, validate, and gain approval for CNC programs. Produce accurate CNC programs together with all required documentation, including tool lists and setup sheets . Liaise with Tool Crib personnel to ensure cutting tools and associated tooling meet the requirements of the machining process. Provide hands-on support to Manufacturing on the shop floor, assisting with machine setup, program proving, troubleshooting, and debugging. Continuously identify opportunities to improve cycle times, machining strategies, CNC code, and cutting tool utilisation . Participate in cross-functional manufacturing meetings to identify production issues and implement practical process improvements. Work directly with machine operators to provide programming support, make necessary program adjustments, and gather feedback to improve machining processes. Maintain a strong focus on quality, efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment. Required Skills & Experience Proven experience using Mastercam 3D CAD/CAM software for CNC programming. Experience with Esprit CAM would be advantageous. Knowledge and practical experience of 3+2 and/or simultaneous 5-axis CNC programming . Strong hands-on machining experience with aerospace materials such as Inconel, Titanium, and Stainless Steel . Comprehensive understanding of machining speeds and feeds , particularly when working with difficult-to-machine and superalloy materials. Good knowledge of modern cutting tool technology and its application to different machining processes. Understanding of cutting tool and tooling design principles. Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, with a thorough understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) . Competent using Microsoft Office and other standard computer applications. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure job shop environment . A proactive approach to problem-solving, continuous improvement, and supporting production teams on the shop floor.
