Company Overview Short Run Metal Stamping is a dynamic manufacturing facility dedicated to precision metal fabrication and stamping. Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated (EDM) Programmer/Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, running and maintain EDM equipment to produce intricate metal parts. Your expertise in EDM programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will drive the success of our fabrication processes, ensuring top-tier quality and efficiency. Responsibilities Develop and modify CNC programs for the EDM machines using CAD/CAM software Set up EDM equipment, including preparing tooling, fixtures, and workpieces according to customer drawings and schematics Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspection reports and machine logs. Maintain machine calibration and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance Read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and mechanical schematics for accurate production Collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to troubleshoot machining issues and improve processes Operate EDM machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards Skills Proficiency with CNC programming, CAD/CAM programming for designing and editing machine programs Strong blueprint reading skills. Strong knowledge of CNC programming and operation for EDM,CNC lathe, CNC milling machines, stamping presses and other manufacturing equipment Familiarity with tooling design, fabrication and assembly processes Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers accurately. Ability to read schematics, mechanical drawings, and electrical diagrams accuretly Strong math skills for interpreting measurements and machine settings. Have an undertanding of GD&T principles to ensure parts meet strict tolerances.
