We are seeking an experienced First-Class Machinist/CNC Programmer capable of programming, setting up, and operating advanced CNC equipment. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Mastercam, SolidWorks, 5-axis machining, CNC milling, and live-tooling CNC lathes, along with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and develop machining solutions from concept through finished part.

Duties to include:

Program, set up, and operate CNC 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills. Program and operate CNC lathes, including live tooling and multi-axis turning centers. Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam. Develop and modify 3D models, tooling concepts, and machining designs using SolidWorks. Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, blueprints, and technical specifications. Select appropriate tooling, workholding, cutting parameters, and machining strategies. Perform complete machine setups, including work offsets, tool offsets, probing, and tool changes. Manufacture complex, tight-tolerance components from prototype through production. Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment to ensure conformance with specifications. Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and dimensional issues. Optimize cycle times, tool life, surface finish, and overall machining efficiency. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to improve manufacturability and develop machining processes. Design and manufacture fixtures, fooling, and custom components as required. Maintain safe, clean, and organized work practices. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior machinists when needed.

Desired Skills & Experience:

Significant experience as a First-Class, Journeyman, Senior, or CNC Machinist. Advanced CNC programming, machine setup, and machining experience. Strong proficiency with Mastercam for CNC programming. Strong proficiency with SolidWorks, including 3D modeling and fixture/tooling design. Proven experience with 5-axis CNC machining. Experience with live-tooling CNC lathes, multi-axis turning centers, and/or mill-turn machines. Ability to independently take a component from drawing/model through programming, setup, machining, inspection, and finished part. Strong knowledge of GD&T. engineering drawings, and precision measurement techniques. Strong troubleshooting and machining-process optimization skills. Excellent understanding of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, workholding, machining strategies, and materials. Experience manufacturing complex, close-tolerance components, preferably for aerospace, defense, medical, or similarly demanding industries. Experience developing machining processes for prototypes and low-volume/high-complexity work. Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor less-experienced machinists. Hands-on, self-directed approach with the ability to combine traditional machining expertise with advanced CNC programming and manufacturing capabilities.

Compensation:

$80,000 and up annually depending on experience and qualifications . The annual base salary range for this role is $80,000 and up. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
