CNC Programmer/ Set Up Machinist
  • 1st Shift Our client is currently seeking a 1st shift, CNC Programmer/ Set Up Machinist, to join their team.
The ideal candidate will provide programming and machining expertise in support of customer requests. With this, the employee will be required to program, set up and operate machinery for the fabrication of parts. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in CNC machining with mills and lathes as well as a strong understanding of manufacturing processes. Work assignments are varied and of the highest level of scope and complexity. This position offers an opportunity to produce high-quality production standards while working in a safety-conscious environment. The employee must be able to demonstrate mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement with minimal supervision. Shift

  • $27•31/hr.
(based on job experience) Job Responsibilities Set-up, operate, and program CNC machines (lathes), including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Must be familiar with Okuma and Haas machines as well as G-Codes and M-codes. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and grinders. Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements. Stop machines to remove finished work pieces or to change tooling, setup, or work piece placement, according to required machining sequences. Conduct periodic inspections to ensure equipment and tools are in good working order and available for use when required. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Perform all other duties as assigned. Required Experience and Skills A minimum of three years of experience working as a CNC Programmer/ Set Up Machinist Possess a high mechanical aptitude. Familiar with G-code and M-code Able, to perform jobs with minimal supervision. In addition, the ideal performer will be a motivated self-starter with good interpersonal and technical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively on verbal and written levels.
