Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled CNC Set Up/Programmer to join our manufacturing team, dedicated to precision metal machining and high-quality production. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines—specifically CNC lathes and milling machines—including advanced 5-axis CNC equipment. Your expertise will ensure efficient machining processes, adherence to engineering specifications, and optimal tooling setups. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CAD/CAM software, and experience with various measurement tools to maintain the highest standards of quality and precision.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and set up CNC machining equipment, including programming CNC lathes and CNC milling machines using Fanuc controls Interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specifications to ensure accurate machining Develop and modify CNC programs utilizing CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for machining operations, ensuring optimal performance and safety Perform precision measurements using bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), calipers, micrometers, and other measurement instruments to verify part accuracy Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling wear, or machine calibration; implement corrective actions promptly Maintain detailed documentation of setup procedures, program revisions, and quality control reports Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize manufacturing processes following lean manufacturing principles Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean work environment Requirements Proven experience programming and setting up CNC machines such as CNC lathe and CNC milling machines Proficiency with Fanuc controls for machine operation and programming Strong knowledge of CAD software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar engineering design tools Experience with CAM software for toolpath generation and CNC programming Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and schematic interpretation Mechanical aptitude with understanding of metal machining processes including electrical discharge machining (EDM) Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately and select appropriate tooling Knowledge of measurement techniques using precision measuring instruments like bore gauges and coordinate measuring machines Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency Basic math skills necessary for geometric calculations in machining tasks Knowledge of schematics related to machine operation and tooling setup If you are passionate about precision manufacturing and eager to contribute your technical expertise in a dynamic environment, we encourage you to apply today.
