Job Description

CNC Programmer & Toolmaker Join a Team That Builds Solutions, Not Just Parts Dayton Parts is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer & Toolmaker to support our Harrisburg manufacturing operation. This is not a repetitive production machining role. We are looking for a hands-on machining professional who enjoys programming, building, repairing, and improving tooling and equipment that directly impacts manufacturing performance. In this role, you'll partner with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams to manufacture custom components, develop tooling solutions, troubleshoot production challenges, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. Sunday•Thursday, 10:30 PM•6:30 AM What You'll Do Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes to manufacture custom parts, fixtures, tooling, and production components. Write, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs independently using G-Code and machine controls. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T requirements, and specifications to produce precision components. Design, build, modify, and repair tooling, fixtures, jigs, and manufacturing aids that support production operations. Perform machine setups, tooling selection, offset adjustments, and prove-out of new programs. Manufacture replacement parts for equipment repairs and plant improvement projects. Utilize manual machining equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and saws as required. Inspect completed work using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges. Troubleshoot machining issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Partner with Engineering and Maintenance teams on process improvements and equipment upgrades. Maintain accurate production, quality, and maintenance documentation. Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications CNC programming experience with the ability to independently write and modify programs. CNC lathe experience required. Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T. Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, speeds, feeds, and material properties. Experience using precision measuring instruments. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications Toolmaker, Tool & Die, Maintenance Machinist, or Tool Room experience. Experience fabricating custom fixtures, jigs, and tooling. Welding and fabrication experience. CAD/CAM software experience. Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial production environments.
