NX CNC Programmer - 2nd Shift Greenville, SC 29615 $45-$55 per hour | 18-Month Contract | 6 Openings We are hiring six experienced CNC Programmers to support a large-scale gas turbine manufacturing operation in Greenville, SC. This is a hands-on programming and shop-support position involving complex, large-format machining equipment. This is not a desk-only CAM role. Candidates must be capable of personally supporting machine setup, troubleshooting programs, and proving out complex first-piece components on the shop floor.

Schedule Second shift:

2:30 PM-11:00 PM Eastern Fully onsite in Greenville, SC Some overtime may be available Candidates must be willing and able to work this schedule consistently Key Responsibilities Create, modify, and maintain CNC programs using Siemens NX CAM or another graphical CAM system Program multi-axis milling, turning, grinding, and/or EDM operations Program from scratch when required—not only edit existing programs Support large VTLs and VBMs up to 2.5 meters Support large head-head gantry 5-axis machines and vertical multipurpose turn/grind equipment Verify new CNC programs using Vericut or comparable simulation software Develop Renishaw probing routines, including process validation and error trapping Perform machine setup and personally prove out complex first-piece programs Provide daily programming and troubleshooting support directly on the manufacturing floor Develop tooling and fixturing requirements Create clear CNC-related work instructions Train operators during new-machine startups, rebuilt-machine launches, and process improvements Lead improvements involving safety, quality, cost, and delivery Required Qualifications Applicants must meet all of the following requirements: At least four years of CNC programming experience using a graphical CAM system Ability to create CNC programs from scratch Significant hands-on machining experience Ability to personally set up and prove out complex first-piece programs Strong blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation skills Strong shop mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry skills Ability to troubleshoot CNC programs directly on the shop floor Availability for the required 2:30 PM-11:00 PM second-shift schedule Ability to work onsite in Greenville, SC Current authorization to work in the United States without present or future employment sponsorship Highly Preferred Experience Siemens NX CAM Five-axis CNC programming Vericut Large-format VTL or VBM equipment Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, and/or Siemens controls Renishaw probing routines Macros, subroutines, and variable-based programming Closed-loop machining Large precision components where deflection, work hardening, and thermal stability affect tolerances Nickel-based superalloys such as Inconel, Rene, or Hastelloy Heavy-duty gas turbine, power-generation, aerospace, turbomachinery, or similarly complex manufacturing Interview Process Initial interviews may be conducted by Microsoft Teams. Local candidates may be asked to attend an onsite interview. Qualified nonlocal candidates may be selected following a virtual interview but must relocate or commute to Greenville for this fully onsite assignment. Candidates who lack hands-on machining, machine setup, first-piece prove-out, or scratch-programming experience will not be considered. NX CAM experience receives priority, although exceptionally strong programmers using another advanced CAM platform may be considered. Pay is expected to be $45-$55 per hour.
