In this role, you will be responsible for developing precise CNC programs that drive the production of complex metal components using advanced machining centers. Your expertise will ensure that parts are manufactured to exact specifications, utilizing your deep understanding of CNC machinery, CAD/CAM software, and manufacturing principles. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality production processes while working with state-of-the-art equipment and innovative engineering techniques. Responsibilities Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for various machines including CNC lathes, milling machines, and 4-axis CNC machines using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and BobCam. Interpret mechanical blueprints and engineering drawings, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards to ensure precise machining. Set up CNC machining tools and fixtures, ensuring proper tooling selection and alignment for efficient manufacturing runs. Perform machine setup, calibration, and troubleshooting to maintain optimal machining performance and quality standards. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part accuracy. Collaborate with engineering teams to improve machining processes through lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, tooling configurations, and quality control records to ensure traceability and compliance. Requirements Proven experience programming CNC machinery such as CNC lathes, milling machines, or 4-axis CNC machines in a manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and CAM programming tools for creating efficient machining strategies. Knowledge of Fanuc controls and familiarity with other CNC control systems is highly desirable. Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately while applying GD&T principles. Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in metal machining processes Skilled in measurement techniques using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments for quality assurance. Understanding of lean manufacturing practices to optimize workflow and reduce waste within the machining process. Strong math skills related to geometry, measurement conversions, and program calculations necessary for precise machining.
