Job Description

Job Summary The Manufacturing Programmer / Applications role is responsible for supporting production operations by programming, setting up, and operating manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced environment. This position ensures efficient and accurate production processes, upholds quality standards, and implements process improvements. The role requires the ability to work independently, apply technical knowledge, communicate effectively, support quality initiatives, and train team members. Key tasks include machine setup and programming, part inspection, troubleshooting operations, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with management and shop personnel to meet production goals and customer requirements. Responsibilities Operate all production equipment without supervision. Apply mechanics, mathematics, part layout, and machining knowledge to support shop operations. Use measuring and test equipment (M&TE) to inspect and evaluate finished parts. Organize work to complete jobs on time and meet customer due dates efficiently. Work safely, using required personal protective equipment, and follow the shop and facility safety policies. Demonstrate understanding of quality system standards such as
AS9100, API
Q1, and
ISO 9001
as they apply to the Manufacturing Facility. Take responsibility for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the quality system. Stop any process to correct critical issues affecting product quality or customer satisfaction. Communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with management and co-workers. Maintain above-average product knowledge, specifically regarding part configurations and applications relevant to your role. Develop a practical understanding of basic Manufacturing Facility operations, focusing on process flow and work organization as required for your responsibilities. Share technical information and ideas with the Production Manager and shop personnel. Participate in inspection activities and various data-collection activities within the Manufacturing Facility. Help write system documents, including operating procedures and work instructions. Support developing and using these documents as needed. Support the implementation of company's business policies in the Manufacturing Facility. Demonstrate basic proficiency in programming software as required by the role's responsibilities. Duties Set up machines and equipment to support Machinists. Program new and revised parts. Assist in quoting by providing accurate labor values for jobs. Set high-efficiency production rates and train lower-level Machinists. Review efficiency reports and metrics to support improvements. Troubleshoot machining issues, including part machining difficulties and machine operations. Understand Work Orders and associated customer order information. Read and interpret part prints, understand dimensional tolerances, and all aspects of part characteristics. Lay out and verify part dimensions using precision measuring and marking instruments and knowledge of trigonometry. Fabricate, assemble, and modify tooling, including jigs, fixtures, templates, and dies, to produce parts and assemblies. Ensure Machinists meet production rates and perform machining operations within their capacities and standard efficiencies. Process nonconforming products in accordance with established procedures. Report system discrepancies or improvement opportunities to management to support continuous improvement. Complete reports and record operational data as required.
Pay:
$29.00 - $34.00 per hour

Machine operation: 3 years (Preferred)
